This webinar provided an overview of the fundamentals of electric vehicles, including batteries and charging through the lens of light electric mobility. It explained the rationale for electrification and introduced some of the big questions and unresolved challenges facing the transport sector on its pathway to decarbonization.

About the Speaker

Conrad Richardson currently serves as Senior International Technical Advisor for the ASEAN-German Sustainable Mobility in Metropolitan Regions (SMMR) project and has professional experience spanning Southeast Asia, the Middle East, East Africa, and Europe.

Specializing in shared and electric mobility, public and non-motorized transport (NMT), and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Conrad has worked with organizations including GIZ, PTV Group, ITDP, and the World Bank. He is based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The Asian Development Bank launched the E-Mobility Support and Investment Platform for Asia and the Pacific, with the support by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and other partners, for bringing together practitioners and to support the scale-up of e-mobility in the region. The platform aims to become a centre of knowledge for supporting a just transition towards net-zero pathways.
