Asia and the Pacific E-Mobility Platform Team

The Asian Development Bank's Transport Sector Office has launched a new three-part webinar series exploring how the transition to electric mobility can be made inclusive and equitable across Asia and the Pacific.

Running from March to April 2026, the E-Mobility Webinar Series: Supporting People and Skills in the Just Transition to E-Mobility brings together practitioners, policymakers, and advocates to examine the intersection of social development and electric mobility. The series addresses three interconnected themes: gender-responsive planning for electric transport systems, workforce reskilling for the e-mobility transition, and women's empowerment and leadership in the growing electric mobility sector.

Session 1: Planning Gender-Responsive Electric Transport Systems
📅 Wednesday, 25 March 2026 | 1:00–2:00 PM (GMT+8) | Zoom

The opening session will explore practical approaches to integrating gender considerations into the planning and implementation of electric mobility systems. Discussions will examine how diverse mobility patterns and travel needs—which often differ significantly by gender—can be reflected in system design to improve accessibility, safety, and usability for all transport users.

Session 2: Re-skilling Workers for the E-Mobility Transition
📅 Wednesday, 8 April 2026 | 11:00 AM–12:00 PM (GMT+8) | Zoom

The shift to electric mobility is transforming jobs across vehicle manufacturing and maintenance sectors throughout Asia and the Pacific. This session will examine how training, education, and workforce development initiatives can help workers adapt to new and emerging roles across the electric mobility ecosystem. Ensuring workers are equipped with the skills needed for a changing industry is central to achieving a just and inclusive transition to electric mobility.

Session 3: Empowering Women as Drivers of Change in the E-Mobility Sector
📅 Wednesday, 22 April 2026 | 2:00–3:00 PM (GMT+8) | Zoom

Women remain significantly underrepresented in the transport sector workforce—including in the planning and operation of electric mobility systems. The final session will highlight promising initiatives that support women's participation, leadership, and economic opportunities in the electric mobility ecosystem, making the case that empowering women is essential to building inclusive, well-functioning, and innovative electric mobility systems across the region.

About the Series
The webinar series is organized by the Asian Development Bank's Transport Sector Office and hosted on Zoom. All sessions are free and open to anyone interested in the future of sustainable and equitable transport in Asia and the Pacific.
